Carbon Reduction Plan

Supplier name: esynergy solutions limited

Publication date: 13th October 2022

Commitment to achieving Net Zero

esynergy  is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by the end of 2022.

An Independent report we commissioned covering our last financial year (July 2021 to June 2022) has confirmed we are already carbon negative,  having offset over 414 tonnes of CO2e while only utilising 54 tonnes of CO2e during the same period.

Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

Baseline Year: July 2021 – June 2022
Additional Details relating to the Baseline Emissions calculations.
Our financial year runs from July to June; we have taken our baseline reading from July 2021 to June 2022 to ensure accurate reporting and this includes scope 1, 2 and 3.
Baseline year emissions:
EMISSIONS TOTAL (tCO2e)
Scope 1 0.3
Scope 2 23.8
Scope 3 (Included Sources) 29.1
Total Emissions 53.2

Current Emissions Reporting

Reporting Year: 2021/2022. This Is our first year of reporting.
EMISSIONS TOTAL (tCO2e)
Scope 1 0.3
Scope 2 23.8
Scope 3 (Included Sources) 29.1
Total Emissions 53.2

Emissions reduction targets

July 2021 – June 2022 was our first year of calculating our carbon footprint.  Through this same period we made the decision to begin offsetting our carbon usage via a 3rd party – Ecologi. Having committed to this we are on a climate positive plan, starting  with planting 10 trees per month per employee.

In order to continue our progress to achieving better than Net Zero, we have adopted carbon reduction targets, and we project that our carbon emissions will decrease over the next 3 years to 46.2 tCO2e by 2025.  This is a reduction of 13%

Progress against these targets can be seen in the graph below:

Carbon Reduction Projects

Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives

The following environmental management measures and projects have been completed or implemented since the July 2022 baseline. The carbon emission reduction achieved by these schemes equates to 333 tCO2e.   This is a 626%ge reduction against the 2022 baseline and these measures will be in effect going forward.

esynergy has been involved in the following projects since July 2022:

  • Wind Power project in Thailand: This project will avoid 131,883 tCO2e from entering our atmosphere in each year of its operation, which equates to a total of 1,318,830 tCO2e over 10 years! The project began in 2018 and will run for 25 years, with a renewable crediting period every 10 years.  (https://ecologi.com/esynergy?tileId=63419f06468d70face796c5e )
  • Protecting the Tambopata-Bahuaja Biodiversity Reserve in Peru: Situated near the Bolivian border in the Madre de Dios region in Peru, this project takes place in the Natural Protected Areas (NPAs) of Tambopata National Reserve and a sector of Bahuaja-Sonene National Park. This project will avoid 457,750 tCO2e from entering our atmosphere each year, and will run for 20 years in total. (https://ecologi.com/esynergy?tileId=63419f06468d70face796c5d )
  • Solar power project in Vietnam: This project is situated in the Vinh Hao commune, Tuy Phong district, Binh Thuan province, Vietnam, and will generate electricity using photovoltaic technology, which transforms sunlight into electricity. The project is located on around 60ha of salt farm, and will generate 83,750MWh of power annually. Over the course of the 10-year crediting period, the project will avoid 704,110tCO2e from being emitted, by replacing energy in the grid that would otherwise have been generated from the combustion of fossil fuels. esynergy are interested in exploring ISO14001 to complement our other ISO certifications. We are in the process of moving offices to find premises that will be more energy efficient,  with efficient heating and cooling, LED lighting and a much improved EPC rating.

We have consciously limited the amount of local, European and international travel wherever possible, and encourage the use of virtual meetings both internally and with our clients.

In the near future we hope to implement further measures such as providing our employees  with the ability to purchase an electric vehicle  via our electric car scheme.
