Civil Society Fund

Technology and data, deployed well, are multipliers of social good.

The esynergy Civil Society Fund is a way for us to reinvest a share of the profits from our Not-for-Profit work back into the sector.

To build a more civil society

Charities need a new kind of partner

We believe that technology and data, deployed well, are multipliers of social good. The Civil Society Fund is our commitment to ensuring that the organisations doing the most important work in our communities have access to the resources they need — not just consultancy, but capital

Charities and NGOs are under increasing pressure. Demand is rising, grants are harder to secure, and organisations are being asked to do more with less.

Technology and data can help change that. But too many organisations lack access to the capital, expertise and capacity needed to invest in digital infrastructure.

esynergy Not-for-Profit was founded to help close that gap. We work with charities and NGOs to use technology, data and AI in ways that support their mission and improve outcomes.

The Civil Society Fund takes that commitment further.

It turns commercial success in our Not-for-Profit practice into direct, structured support for the organisations doing vital work in our communities.

How the fund works

The idea is simple.

A share of the profits generated by our Not-for-Profit practice is reinvested into the Civil Society Fund. The fund then supports charities and NGOs through grants, operational drawdowns and practical support.

The more successful we are in helping organisations use technology and data well, the more we can reinvest back into the sector.

Two ways to access funding

Project grants and
operational drawdowns

Project Grants

One-off awards for defined, time-limited initiatives where technology or data investment can improve an organisation’s capacity, resilience or impact.
Grant range: £5,000–£20,000 per award
Project grants can support:
  • Data infrastructure and analytics capability
  • Digital service design and user research
  • Cyber security and data governance programmes
  • AI and automation feasibility studies or pilots
Where appropriate, esynergy may also provide pro bono delivery support alongside the grant.

Operational Drawdowns

Short-term support for organisations facing funding gaps that could affect essential services or operational delivery.
Where set up as an expendable endowment, this support is not returnable. It is a genuine contribution, not a loan.
Operational drawdowns can support:
  • Continuity of essential services
  • Short-term organisational resilience
  • Key income-generating events
  • Partnership or delivery gaps
